Grabbing a goal at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu on Wednesday night, Borussia Dortmund forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang admitted that he hopes to one day move to Real Madrid.
On rapid form for the Westphalians, the striker noted that he’s in no rush to leave for Spain but his commitment made to his grandfather that he’ll one day try to sign for Los Blancos still stands.
“Yes [I still want to play for Real], it’s a promise I made to my grandfather,” the Gabon international said to beIN Sports. “Right now I feel very good at Dortmund but in the future we’ll see.”
A 2-2 draw was well-earned by Borussia to finish top of their Champions League group, and Aubameyang is nonplussed about the identity of their last-16 opponents.
“We don’t mind who we play,” he asserted.
“At half-time we talked about how we all knew we could do something [versus Real] and we did very well in the second-half.”
